Requirements:- PhD in Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, Medical Sociology or a related field.

- Proven experience in ASRH measurement (FP, HIV, SGBV).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with governments, particularly Ministries of Health, on joint monitoring and data use.

ICRW Africa is a lean, high-impact research-to-action NGO tackling some of the most pressing development challenges in Africa. The Senior Researcher will conceptualize and provide technical oversight on a research and evaluation project focused on ICRW Africa’s SRHR thematic area. Founded in 2014, Tiko is an African nonprofit organisation that enhances the potential and fosters the resilience of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Sub-Saharan Africa by addressing the critical “Triple Threat”: early pregnancy, HIV, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Tiko has developed its own unique girl-centric technology platform to unite an ecosystem of existing, established partners to provide an environment enabling girls to choose when, where and how they meet their health and wellbeing needs. The JobYou work with our team to ensure that we’re able to unpick and understand past and future data. You support the overall availability of data to the organization and are expected to be the champion for automated data QA testing - ensuring data quality, reliability, and integrity across our systems.
Responsibilities:- You translate our business needs into technical solutions.
- Ensure that data is readily available from multiple sources.
- You develop and maintain tools to analyze our data and identify trends.
- You turn these data into a clear report that helps local and global teams take decisions on risk, changes, and programs.
- Take ownership of implementing and promoting automated data QA testing practices across the team.
- Continue to work in an Agile way, as per our teams.
About youYou are a lover of all things Data, and understand how to gather, analyze and interpret information. You take pride in data quality and are ready to be the champion for automated data QA testing, driving best practices to ensure data accuracy and reliability. You are used to agile practices and rituals and will join in with the team's way of working.
Requirements:- 8+ years of experience working with complex data sets and expertise in data and tools.
- Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
- Previous experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL)
- SQL and AWS working experience is essential
- Python, Terraform, and Airflow experience is very beneficial
- Below are some of the technologies we use at Tiko: Lambda, Flyway, SQL, dbt, pgTAP, PostgreSQL, Python, Terraform, Airflow (experience in these technologies will be essential)

Scope and deliverables
The key tasks include:

Gender-Responsive Advocacy Analysis
- Examine discriminatory cultural and social norms that restrict women’s economic participation.
- Propose effective advocacy strategies for engaging public and private actors to address these barriers.

Private Sector Engagement
- Assess policies, HR systems, and workplace practices of available private sector actors.
- Identify gaps in gender responsiveness and propose inclusive workplace measures.
- Conduct follow-up visits to monitor adoption and implementation of recommendations.

Institutional Review
- Assess the Bureau of Women and Children Affairs, Bureau of Labor and Skills, one-stop centres, traditional Justice, Afar microfinance, Awash Bank and job creation councils.
- Examine their alignment with national and regional gender priorities.
- Recommend ways to strengthen institutional capacity for advancing women’s economic empowerment.

Education & TVET Analysis
- Work with three TVET colleges (Adadale, Asa’le, and Keluwan) to assess curricula, trainers’ skills, teaching materials, and cooperative training.
- Identify gaps in gender responsiveness and inclusivity within TVET systems.
- Recommend improvements to ensure TVETs contribute to women’s equitable participation in priority value chains (honey, poultry, dairy, soybeans, livestock fattening, solar energy, and fodder).

Multi-Stakeholder Coordination
- Review and strengthen job creation coordination platforms at regional level.
- Facilitate the integration of inclusive employment strategies into their processes.

Integration with Existing Assessments
- Build on AeA’s TVET Capacity and Market System Development (MSD) Gap Assessment by integrating gender considerations into curriculum redesign, market alignment, and training delivery.
- Ensuring gender perspectives are embedded in skills development, career pathways, and job creation initiatives.
Requirements- The lead consultant must have at least 5 years direct experience working on analyse gender barriers in education, employment, and market access and propose actionable recommendations, gender-inclusive market system development strategies, excellent verbal and written English skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports for diverse stakeholders.
- Team members should hold graduate/post-graduate level qualifications in related subjects gender A
- The firm should be registered in Ethiopia and demonstrate a successful completion of at least 10 relevant assignments during at least five years.
- The firm should present at least two similar studies performed especially in Afar region or similar context in Gender Analysis report during the last three years, substantiated by recommendation letters or certificates from legally operating organizations. The consultant should submit at least two relevant sample work.
