Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI) Generic (e.g. 'gender focal point' roleSpecific Post EnvironmentThe field of gender in finance is gaining unprecedented visibility, and the Bank is entering an exciting phase with the approval of its third Gender Action Plan. In the coming years, there will be strong focus on ensuring its effective implementation and demonstrating real impact. This work will feed directly into the Bank’s refreshed social narrative for 2026 and beyond, aligning closely with major EU initiatives such as the Social Pillar Action Plan and the EU Anti‑Poverty Strategy. Joining now means stepping into a role where your expertise can shape how the Bank positions itself in a rapidly evolving policy landscape. Occasional travel outside Luxembourg adds an international dimension to the work and offers opportunities to engage with partners across regions.
Accountabilities
Monitor and report on the new Gender Action Plan (GAPIII) and other frameworks- Quality assurance and reporting against the EIB’s policies and procedures, including SABs
- Prepare Quarterly results for Directors and MC reporting
- Contribute to EIB public reporting (e.g. SDGs Annual Report, SME report etc)
Systems and tools development on gender and social topics- Develop digital tools, such as the Gender checker for staff and clients
- Source data for gender tag quick paths to support analysis
- Convert the gender tag guidance to an interactive tool and chatbot to support appraisal
Intermediated finance for gender and social- Work with the S&CO intermediated finance focal point to input on gender and social matters
- Develop guidance and tools for ie. side letters and templates to reflect EIB and 2X evolving criteria
- Provide helpdesk support to department gender experts and to front line colleagues
Internal communications and knowledge management on gender- Contribute to Intranet content
- Develop Gender storytelling
- Participate in teams/communities of practice for colleagues working on gender topics
- Manage the comms part of the TA facilities (GESI Facility OEU, Fragility Community of Practice etc
Qualifications- University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) in a relevant field (preferably sociology, social anthropology, social development, development studies, gender studies, development economics or another relevant discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of experience focussed on enhancing the social and gender equality impact of investments in infrastructure, financial intermediaries and/or corporates within an international development and/or financial institution, including public or private sector institutions focussed.
- Knowledge of the EIB’s approach to financing for gender equality and of relevant international standards and criteria such as 2X.
- Demonstrated experience of using relevant IT tools to build systems, processes and dashboards to support analysis and reporting;
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (***), with a good command of the other.

Responsibilities
Support Senior and Mid-Level staff with data-related tasks, including:- Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to data collection, including respondents, database, and other technical issues
- Data processing, cleaning, and checking
- Programmatically output data into tables
- Oversee coding and preparations for data processing, develop coding instructions, train Research Assistants in coding procedures
- Support senior staff with data management, analysis of international surveys (e.g. DHS, MICS, PMA), program code and associated documentation for all component projects for AIU
- Assist with any necessary original data collection activities, including programming questionnaires and tools for collecting cost data.

Assist Senior and Mid-Level staff in preparing manuscripts and presentation materials:- Search for and gather literature and relevant information, draft summaries of articles for a literature review, maintain updated reference lists and group library settings in Zotero
- Reviewing and formatting references and formatting to meet journal specifications, including text, tables, figures
- Fact-checking manuscripts, reports and fact sheets
Support with Operational and Administrative tasks, as needed:- Archive work during and after project completion
- Provide operational and administrative support to the AIU Program Manager and/or Research Project Lead, as needed
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible, related work experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Proficiency in using quantitative analysis software (Stata, R, etc)
- Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and willingness to gain proficiency in other computer programs
- Ability to assume responsibility for organizing and managing data collection activities
- Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to manage competing tasks and deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail, as well as a self-motivated work style and ability to work well both individually and in a group
- Conscientious work habits and adherence to deadlines
- Familiarity with reproductive health topics, including abortion, contraception, sexual health
- Experience in performing and understanding progressively more complex research activities
- Good judgment in terms of asking for clarification when necessary, updating supervisors of progress/problems on a timely basis
- Assume progressively more responsibility for project tasks and work independently without close supervision
- Ability to assist in the training of research assistants
- Fluency in French and/or Spanish is desirable
