About us
Orchid joins a growing movement that holds reproductive justice as a human right and builds local power and sovereignty by resourcing proven models of care grounded in trust and cultural safety.
Position Overview
The Investment Analyst is a key member of Orchid Capital Collective’s investment team, responsible for supporting the full arc of Orchid’s integrated capital work, from sourcing and evaluating prospective borrowers to stewarding portfolio partners through non-financial support. Reporting to the Director of Investments, the Investment Analyst brings both analytical rigor and relational depth to the work, helping ensure that Orchid’s investment processes are efficient, values-aligned, and responsive to the communities we serve.
This role sits at the intersection of investment analysis and portfolio services and is well-suited for someone with experience in community finance or impact investing who is committed to reproductive justice, racial equity, and economic justice, and who is excited to build systems and relationships in a growing, mission-driven fund.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone who brings both analytical rigor and genuine values alignment to this work. The ideal candidate has experience reviewing financial documents — balance sheets, income statements, cash flow projections — and knows how to ask the right questions of the data and translate concerns into clear written communication. Equally important is exceptional organizational discipline: this role manages many moving pieces across multiple organizations simultaneously, and we need someone who proactively tracks what's due, follows up without being asked, and communicates early when something needs attention. You don't need to be a seasoned investment professional — but you do need to be a strong and curious learner who can build fluency in community finance quickly.
Beyond the technical, we are looking for someone with a deep, personal commitment to reproductive justice, racial equity, and gender justice — not as a professional credential, but as a lived orientation. You should be genuinely comfortable with and connected to the full spectrum of reproductive health and rights, including abortion access and LGBTQ+ communities. Orchid is a small, remote, startup-stage fund led by Black women, and we are looking for someone who can operate with care and directness in that kind of culture — someone who speaks up, manages up, and shows up fully, even when things are hard.
If selected to advance by Orchid Capital Collective, you will enter our training program preceeding your employment and be exposed to various models of decentralized finance that challenge the status quo of money movement. The curriculum is both intellectually, and introspectively challenging, and intended to facilitate personal and subsequently professional transformation in the way you subsequently interact with systems of capital.
