Background
The International Planned Parenthood Federation – Arab World Regional Office (IPPF AWRO) is committed to strengthening the capacity of its Member Associations and youth leaders to deliver quality, rights-based, and inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services, particularly in humanitarian and fragile settings.

The Arab region continues to experience multiple humanitarian crises, including armed conflicts, displacement, natural disasters, and protracted emergencies that disproportionately affect women, girls, adolescents, and other vulnerable populations. Ensuring access to comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services during humanitarian emergencies remains a critical priority to safeguard health, dignity, and human rights.

The Arab World Regional Youth Network is a freshly founded network consisting of youth board representatives from each member association from the region united to advocate for the youth voices in the region in terms of sexual and reproductive health and rights. This training falls under the first strategic priority of the network due to the sensitivity of the regional context where youth have consistently proved their engagement and their initiative taking in the intervention in the humanitarian settings. The training aims to strengthen and equip participants' technical knowledge, practical skills, and preparedness to design, implement, and advocate for quality SRH interventions in humanitarian contexts.

To deliver this regional training, IPPF AWRO is seeking experienced facilitators with demonstrated expertise in SRHR programming in humanitarian settings.

Objectives of the Assignment
The selected facilitator(s) will:
  • Facilitate practical exercises, case studies, simulations, and group work that enable participants to apply humanitarian principles to real-life contexts.
  • Strengthen participants' understanding of SRH programming in humanitarian settings using evidence-based and rights-based approaches.
  • Support participants in identifying opportunities for integrating SRHR interventions within their respective humanitarian and emergency response settings.
  • Produce a concise training report summarizing key discussions, outcomes, recommendations, and participant feedback.
 

Scope of Work
The facilitator will be expected to:
  • Collaborate with the organizing team to refine the methodology and learning approach.
  • Deliver the assigned technical sessions during the regional workshop.
  • Facilitate interactive discussions, simulations, and experiential learning activities.
  • Document key outputs and submit a final facilitation report following the workshop.

Desired Profile
Applicants should demonstrate:
  • Advanced university degree in Public Health, Medicine, Humanitarian Action, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health programming within humanitarian or emergency settings.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating regional or international capacity-building workshops.
  • Good understanding of the Arab World conflicts and natural disasters and their effects on SRH.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP)
    • SRH in humanitarian settings
    • Adolescent and youth SRHR in the Arab world region
    • Protection principles and humanitarian coordination mechanisms
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and adult learning skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic is required. English is highly desirable.
