The Role
Reporting to the Partnership Manager and under the guidance of the Inclusion Lead and the Regional Safeguards Manager, the Inclusion and Safeguarding Adviser will lead the integration of inclusion and safeguarding systems across Pacific Australia Skills Vanuatu. The role supports the operationalising of the Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan, as well as effective implementation of Pacific Australia Skills safeguarding strategy in line with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Safeguarding Policies (Child Protection and PSEAH), DT Global safeguarding frameworks, and relevant national and international standards.
The Role

The role supports the operationalising of the Inclusion Strategy and Action Plan, as well as effective implementation of Pacific Australia Skills safeguarding strategy in line with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Safeguarding Policies (Child Protection and PSEAH), DT Global safeguarding frameworks, and relevant national and international standards.
To enhance skills at the country level, the adviser will facilitate professional development in safeguarding and inclusive approaches for Pacific Australia Skills staff, partners and other stakeholders in Vanuatu. The role also supports the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Communications team to ensure inclusion is embedded within MEL systems, communication products and incorporated into country plans.
Essential Experience
Essential Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in inclusion, international development, social sciences, community development or another relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within development programs or donor-funded projects, preferably Australian Government within Vanuatu.
- Experience supporting the coordination of training, workshops, or capacity building activities.
- Experience supporting partner engagement, program delivery, or project implementation activities.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in Vanuatu context with oral communication skills in Bislama.
- Understanding of and commitment to Social Inclusion, Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation,
- Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
