InnovateHer is on a mission to ‘get girls ready for the tech industry and the tech industry ready for girls.’ We’re looking for an experienced Head of New Business Development to join us for 12 months, taking ownership of new business development and keeping our growth momentum strong.
This is a senior role for someone who already knows how to open doors in the public sector and education space, and who wants to make a tangible impact on a growing social enterprise in a defined window of time. You’ll work alongside our Head of Growth and Partnerships, who continues to own our existing corporate partner relationships, upselling and social value work, your focus ownership of a new area of business development.
Your role in our team
This role is a great opportunity to shape InnovateHer’s commercial future, with the successful candidate taking ownership of a new area of business development. Working alongside our Head of Growth & Partnerships and the wider team, you’ll lead the growth of our education and public sector pipeline, helping schools, trusts and public sector organisations access our programmes and new digital learning platform. You’ll also work closely with our corporate partnerships, building on existing relationships and identifying opportunities where they can support and accelerate growth across the education sector.
You’ll be trusted to manage your own pipeline and sales cycle, while staying closely aligned with both the Head of Growth and wider leadership team, ensuring our overall growth strategy stays joined up. You’ll also have the opportunity to support building out our sales function for our digital platform later in the role, once the platform is more established.
About you
- A proven track record in the public sector, combined authority, or MAT sales/partnerships — ideally within education, social impact or a related sector.
- Confident and experienced using outbound sales tools and platforms (e.g. Apollo) to build and manage pipelines efficiently from day one.
- A self-starter, comfortable managing longer public sector sales cycles independently, without needing close day-to-day direction.
- A solid understanding of how social value and educational delivery are positioned within the public sector and grant bid submissions.
- Senior enough to operate strategically and represent InnovateHer with confidence at a senior level.
- Comfortable working flexibly and adapting your focus as priorities shift across a fixed-term contract.
- Passionate about our mission to get more young people, especially girls, into technology.
