ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
Manushya Foundation is recruiting two full-time Communications Fellows for six months: one Feminist Campaigns Fellow and one Digital Content & Community Fellow. Each fellow will own a distinct area while working closely within the Communications & Campaigns team to advance feminist movement-led campaigns and make complex human rights issues urgent, accessible, and impossible to ignore.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Feminist Campaigns Fellow
For an emerging journalist or activist-campaigner with a strong political voice and a compelling pen. You will strengthen the writing behind Manushya’s campaigns, newsletters, and media engagement to advance and amplify frontline communities’ advocacies and demands with conviction. You will receive guidance, feedback, and room to develop your own voice in alignment with Manushya’s tone, vision, and values.
● Campaign and advocacy writing: Research and draft campaign narratives, explainers, human rights alerts, advocacy messages, calls to action, and related copy.
● Editorial publications: Draft and edit blogs, Op-Eds, newsletters, and other long-form pieces, translating complex analysis into clear, compelling language.
● Media and advocacy materials: Prepare press releases, media advisories, talking points, briefing materials, factsheets, and support media outreach and follow-up.
2. Digital Content & Community Fellow
For a creative, organised social media content creator who understands Thai audiences and online culture. You will work closely with the Communications & Programme Associate to keep Manushya’s day-to-day social media engine moving while bringing our short-form video strategy, focused on showcasing underserved grassroots voices and realities, and Thai-language content to life.
● Social media operations: Coordinate the day-to-day content calendar; gather inputs and assets; schedule and publish posts; support communications data collection.
● Digital content creation: Track relevant Thai conversations and platform trends; design and produce timely, accessible, high-quality English and Thai digital content.
● Community engagement and collaborations: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, mentions, and tags using agreed protocols; escalate risks; and support collaborations with Thai creators and aligned organisations.
Shared Responsibilities
● Participate in communications planning, team meetings, and collaborative workflows.
● Support live event coverage.
● Other tasks as assigned by the Communications and Campaigns Manager.
Both Fellows Bring
● Commitment to decolonial and intersectional feminism, human rights, and structural justice.
● 1-3 years of relevant experience. We value lived expertise, paid employment, freelance work, volunteering, movement organising, community work, and training; all of these count.
● Strong organisation, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage deadlines.
● Agility within a lean human rights team: you can respond thoughtfully to emerging priorities, communicate early when timelines or capacity shift, and ask for support when needed.
● Sound judgment and care when handling sensitive stories, consent, and digital safety
● A collaborative approach and a growth mindset
