Economic justice Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
 The Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI) is a regional technical assistance facility co-financed by the Government of Australia, the Government of New Zealand, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Since 2006, PSDI has worked with ADB's Pacific Developing Member Countries (DMCs) to improve the enabling environment for business and support inclusive, private sector-led economic growth.
 
Objective and Purpose of Assignment:
Gender equality and women's economic empowerment are well-established priorities across PSDI's work, with dedicated gender expertise to be embedded in the program team from the start of Phase V. In the interim, short-term gender expertise is required to ensure this commitment is meaningfully reflected in PSDI's foundational Phase V design documents.

The purpose of this assignment is to ensure gender equality and women's economic empowerment are meaningfully integrated into PSDI's Phase V country strategy and concept note templates.

Scope of Work:
The Gender and Private Sector Development Expert will work with the PSDI technical team, the PSDI Senior Impact and Visibility Specialist, and the ADB Senior Private Sector Development Officer in the Pacific Department Director-General's Unit, to provide targeted gender inputs into PSDI's Phase V foundational program documentation.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in gender studies, development studies, economics, public policy, or a related field.
• At least 10 years' experience working on gender equality and women's economic empowerment in private sector or economic development contexts. • Experience integrating gender into program design documents, country strategies, or reform initiatives.
• Experience working in the Pacific or other small island developing states preferred, with strong understanding of gender priorities in the region. 
• Excellent writing and synthesis skills.
 
Minimum General Experience: 15 Years Minimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment): 10 Years
