Planned Parenthood Toronto (PPT) is a fully accredited community health centre that provides primary health care services to youth 13 to 29 years, as well as health promotion programming, education, training and research to improve the health and well-being of Toronto’s diverse communities.

The Youth Futures Coordinator will coordinate and deliver PPT’s ‘Youth Futures Leadership and Advocacy Program’ aimed at equipping youth with the skills and knowledge needed to combat disinformation and empower their communities. The Coordinator will work with youth across the city of Toronto and provide them with training and resources on advocacy issues that support creating opportunities to organize against rising attacks on human rights and health inequity. The Youth Futures Coordinator will work with external facilitators and partners to execute the curriculum and create a final project with participants as well as foster an ongoing community and connection for the youth leaders who come through this program. The successful candidate is a creative thinker with strong organizational skills who is committed to community organizing and is passionate about the political and social issues that impact youth in Toronto.

- Commitment to and knowledge of reproductive justice, healing justice, community centric work, and anti-racist and anti-colonial work.
- Demonstrated ability to be a “self-starter” who is energized by and takes pleasure in proactively and creatively listening into the needs of communities and mobilizing resources and supports in response.
- Demonstrated experience in activism, community organizing and mobilizing.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the political and social issues impacting 2SLGBTQIA+, racialized and marginalized youth across the city of Toronto and of sexual and reproductive health issues.
- Demonstrated understanding of grassroots organizing and youth organizing.
- Commitment to working with 2SLGBTQ youth, racialized youth, and marginalized youth from an anti-oppression perspective.
- Bachelors degree in a related field with 1-2 years work and/ or volunteer experience in a similar role OR 4-5 years work and/or volunteer experience in a similar role.
- Commitment to pro-choice philosophy.
- Ability to develop, implement and coordinate youth programs, workshops and presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in community-based research, program promotion and evaluation and ability to network and work collaboratively with local agencies, community groups, schools and/or school boards.
- Proficiency and experience working in a computerized environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to: equity goals and principles; youth positive, 2SLGBTQIA+ positive, and sex positive advocacy; and sexual and reproductive rights and to being inclusive of diverse sexual and gender identities.
- Commitment to working cooperatively in a community-based setting as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekend hours.
