Babaylanes is looking for a creative and strategic Communications Officer to lead the organization’s storytelling and public engagement. You will create, edit, and manage compelling content across social media, websites, and print materials, turning complex programs and initiatives into clear, impactful narratives.
Scope of Work
The Communication Officer responsibilities are as follows:
● Develop Communication Strategies, Branding, and Messaging: The Communication Officer is tasked with formulating and executing communication strategies for its programs in alignment with the organization's objectives.
● Handle Communication Channel Including Website, Social Media, and Tangible Materials: The Communication Officer manages various communication channels, encompassing the organization's website, social media platforms, and physical materials.
● Content Creation: The Communication Officer is responsible for generating compelling and engaging content to effectively convey the organization's initiatives. This includes crafting articles, and social media content. Additionally, they may create multimedia materials such as videos and infographics to visually communicate the organization's message.
● Communication Support for programs: Provide strategic and technical communications support to program teams, including content development, editing, press releases, campaign messaging, event documentation, and visibility materials.
● Monitoring and Evaluation of the Communication Department: The Communication Officer oversees the monitoring and evaluation of communication efforts to gauge their effectiveness.
● Archiving Materials: The Communication Officer ensures the systematic archiving of communication materials. This includes organizing and maintaining a repository of documents, publications, and multimedia content for future reference and historical documentation.
● Internal Communications Tool: The Communication Officer facilitates seamless internal communication within the organization. This involves keeping staff members well-informed about organizational updates, projects, and initiatives.
Required experience
● Bachelor’s degree in communications, multimedia arts, or any other related field;
● Excellent writing skills and fluency in English and Filipino;
● Experience managing digital platforms, including websites and social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.), as well as familiarity with traditional media engagement;
● Experience in content production, including writing articles, press releases, reports, and social media materials; multimedia production skills (photo, video, basic editing) are an advantage;
● Proven experience in graphic design and layout, with proficiency in any design tools;
● Background or involvement on SOGIESC-based anti-discrimination issues/human rights law/gender issues; and
● High attention to detail, with the ability to maintain consistency and accuracy across all communication outputs.
