The Asia Feminist LBQ Network (AFLN) is a regional organisation in Asia that works to create a sustainable and intersectional human rights movement for the social and political inclusion of LBQ persons. We envision a world where LBQ persons are free, visible and included in all levels of society.
We are seeking a Media and Communications Officer to strengthen our storytelling, visibility, and movement-facing communications. This role is ideal for someone who is a strong writer, visually creative, and skilled in digital and social media content, and who is motivated to support feminist and LBQ movements across Asia.
Position: Media and Communication Officer
Location: Asia-based. Remote or hybrid, depending on country context. Occasional regional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Write and edit clear, compelling content for websites, reports, newsletters, media materials, and social media
- Translate research, advocacy, and movement work into accessible and engaging communications
- Design visual materials such as social media graphics, briefs, presentations, and simple publications
- Create, film, and edit short-form social media videos (e.g. reels, stories, campaign videos)
- Manage and grow AFLN’s social media platforms and digital presence
- Work closely with program, research, and advocacy teams to amplify impact and campaigns
Requirements:
- Degree or relevant training in communications, media, journalism, design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong writing and editing skills in English (additional Asian languages are an asset)
- Experience with basic graphic design tools and video software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier Pro or similar)
- Experience creating and editing videos for social media platforms
- Understanding of digital storytelling, audience engagement, and social media trends
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a regional, values-driven organisation
- Experience working in feminist, human rights, or social justice organisations is highly desirable
