Sexual & reproductive rights (SRHR) Health

Responsibilities
 
Program Development.
  • Provide technical assistance in the design and review of all concept notes, proposals, budget, and donor reports for all IRC Kenya reproductive health projects.
  • Coordinate all RMNCAH projects across IRC programs by leading the development and monitoring of periodic work plans to ensure delivery within donor timelines
  • Lead in the development, review, dissemination and monitoring implementation of standards operating procedures and protocols for RMNCAH service delivery to all staff in IRC health programs.
  • Conduct program needs assessments and advise IRC accordingly
  • Be abreast with all technical updates in government/WHO RMNCAH guidelines at national level and keep IRC staff always updated

Grants
  • Participate in establishing funding requirements for RMNCAH and contribute to the development of proposals for RMNCAH programming.
  • Review regular field BvAs related and together with program managers realign budget lines to ensure proper budget spending on RMNCAH activity lines.

Human Resources Management
  • Support recruitment of program staff to (RMNCAH) positions as per the program demand and needs.
  • Maintain updated job descriptions, conduct interviews, orient new staff on the IRC’s RMNCAH best practices and the program.

Coordination and Representation
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders - including community leaders, NGOs, UN agencies, community-based organizations, and other IRC sectors to enhance cooperation and coordination.
  • Ensure that information from coordination meetings is shared internally and with other sectors, as appropriate.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Technology, Accountability, and Learning (METAL)
  • Supporting the RMNCAH field teams and working with METAL to ensure proper RMNCAH data recording in the IRC supported health facilities, support the compilation of data and generation of quality reports on a regular and timely manner.
 
Administrative Duties
  • Support the Health Coordinator to oversee administrative aspects of the program including, but not limited to, writing job descriptions, interviewing and hiring staff.
  • Other duties as required by their supervisor or designate.


Qualifications
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Midwifery or Medicine & Surgery
  • Discipline/ Specialization : Reproductive Health
  • Professional Certification/regulation : 1. Nursing 2. Medicine and Surgery / 2.
  • Additional training in Reproductive health a MUST have
  • Experience : 10 years
  • Supervision : 3 to 4 years
  • Experience implementing reproductive health service delivery in complex emergency settings and health services for displaced populations.
  • Experience implementing RMNCAH programs involving capacity building of health care workers and other system strengthening interventions/projects in health facilities and at community level.
  • Experience of working with Govt., communities, INGOs, and donor agencies. Strong understanding of relevant networks and consortiums.
  • Skills and Competencies : 1. Sexual Reproductive health / 2. Emergency obstetric and newborn care / 3. Health care providers capacity building 4. Project management / 5. proposal writing / 6. Grants management.
  • Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Excellent organizing, facilitating, presentation, and communication skills, including good report writing in English.
