The WASH Coordinator Assistant for Gender Inclusion will support the integration of gender inclusion strategies across WASH programs, ensuring the specific needs of women beneficiaries are addressed in all aspects of the program. The position focuses on enhancing women's participation in traditionally male-dominated technical areas, not limited to hygiene promotion, and ensuring gender-sensitive program design, implementation, and evaluation.
In addition, the Assistant will contribute to broader gender inclusion efforts within the WASH sector through strong coordination with clusters and other relevant actors. This role will also incorporate considerations related to safeguarding and gender-based violence (GBV) in the context of WASH programs, ensuring that no harm is caused and that the principles of dignity, safety, and inclusion are upheld.
Key Objectives:
- Ensure that women beneficiaries are effectively reached and empowered throughout the WASH program.
- Support the integration of protection principles and gender-sensitive programming within all WASH projects, including but not limited to hygiene promotion.
- Provide technical guidance on incorporating gender equality and inclusion into WASH interventions.
- Advocate internally to ensure that gender equality and protection principles are embedded across all program activities.
- Foster strong engagement with women in the field, particularly those who may not speak English, to ensure their voices and inputs are considered and integrated into WASH program activities.
Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in social science, development studies or any other related field. Experience: At-least 2-3 years of experience in gender inclusion, gender mainstreaming, or WASH-related roles, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
Technical Skills:
• In-depth understanding of gender equality principles and experience applying them in technical programming.
• Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Confidence in advocating for gender equality within male-dominated teams and settings.
Competencies:
