We are looking for a motivated Senior Researcher to join PPMI’s Equality team.
PPMI is a leading European research and policy analysis centre. We help public sector and civil society leaders from around the world by presenting evidence in a way that is simple, clear and ready to use. We provide actionable insights, develop a shared understanding among stakeholders and enable policy implementation to bring about positive and lasting change.
PPMI has an established track record in delivering projects in the areas of equality, non-discrimination and gender and equality mainstreaming. We conduct research and policy analysis on gender equality, intersectionality and broader non-discrimination issues across social, economic and political domains. We develop tools, methodologies and capacity-building resources to support the effective implementation of equality policies and strategies. BE READY TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF
You should be ready to participate in the following research and organisational activities:
  • Providing research-based advice on equality, equality/gender mainstreaming and non-discrimination policies and and conducting EU-wide or global consultation activities.
  • Implementing policy-relevant research and developing guidance: collecting and analysing data, formulating data-informed conclusions and designing practical tools for equality policy implementation.
  • Writing research proposals and reports while managing tight and overlapping deadlines.
  • Presenting findings to clients, colleagues and the public at large.
  • Collaborating with PPMI’s team, which has expertise in various public policy areas, while maintaining a proactive and autonomous approach.

COME PREPARED
A successful candidate will have:
  • Strong understanding of EU policies on gender equality, equality and broader non-discrimination issues.
  • Expertise in equality strategies, methods and tools, with experience developing and applying gender and intersectional analysis frameworks.
  • A good grasp of equality data, including familiarity with equality statistics and indicators.
  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods (experience conducting literature reviews, interviews, surveys, focus group discussions, statistical analysis).
  • At least three years of working experience in equality policy analysis, non-discrimination research, or equality/gender mainstreaming, ideally in the EU context.
  • Ability to develop high-quality analytical papers, reports and other types of deliverables that provide actionable recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent policy writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, insightful and audience-focused content.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Full proficiency in English.
  • Master’s degree in gender studies, sociology, public policy, political science, data science, or a related discipline.
