Responsibilities
  • Provide HIV and STI-related technical assistance to the project team.
  • Design/update HIV and STI information for educational workshops and social media communication materials
  • Train health care providers in gender-responsive HIV care
  • Review technical content of HIV /STI standards and guidelines
  • Support the project team to develop SOP and guidelines in HIV referral services.
  • Map HIV service provision  in the country and assess the quality and age- and gender-responsiveness of services, identifying areas where Plan International could provide additional support.
  • Identify in-country HIV-STI referral mechanisms and identify opportunities for Plan International to support or strengthen
  • Ensure quality technical input into project documents and publications
  • Support the development of quality communication tools on HIV programming to be used in HIV-related conferences, symposia and relevant events.
  • Conduct assessments as needed, developing key recommendations for Plan International Poland, partners, and the wider health sector.
  • Represent Plan International in the Health Working Group in Poland.
  • Support Information Management, communications, and advocacy efforts to ensure that SRHR-HIV integration in relevant products (incl. SitReps).

Essential
  • University degree, preferably in health, medical degree or postgraduate in public health or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Polish health system and context.
  • Demonstrable experience and expert knowledge of key practices and standards for HIV prevention, treatment and care.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in implementing projects on HIV and STIs
  • Strong technical capacity in HIV programming with key populations (MSM, Sex workers , PWUD, PLHIV; LGBTIQ+ communities)
  • Significant experience in SRHR programming including comprehensive sexuality education and training health care providers in STI and HIV.
  • Actively promoting diversity, gender equality and inclusion.
  • A good knowledge of global health development issues, especially community-based approach to addressing HIV/AIDS, health system strengthening, and familiarity with health information systems
  • Demonstrate ability to review, analyze health data, synthesize information and produce quality technical documents
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and prevention of sexual assault and exploitation (PSEA)
  • Experience working with LGBTIQ+ communities,  Local Polish NGOs and health care services in Poland.
  • Conversant with the international humanitarian architecture, particularly related to coordination and funding. Demonstrated prior experience of engaging with the humanitarian coordination system at local, regional and global levels.
  • Strong training, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Solid communications, influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Good writing and editing skills, including fluent written and spoken English and Polish. Ukrainian is an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Capacity to manage demanding workloads, often in complex environments.
  • Aptitude to prioritize tasks, work independently and to tight deadlines.
