The Graça Machel Trust (GMT) was established in 2010 and is a registered non-profit Public Benefit Organisation based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Its mission is to amplify women’s movements, influence governance, promote women’s contributions and leadership in Africa’s economic, social, and political development, and advocate for protecting children’s rights and dignity. As a Pan-African institution, the Trust has a presence in 16 countries across the African continent through its Women’s Networks and Strategic Partnerships.
 
The Women Creating Wealth programme is a flagship entrepreneurship initiative to inspire and strengthen women entrepreneurs’ mindset, confidence, and know-how to overcome challenges and graduate their businesses from income-generating to wealth-creating enterprises.  Research shows women invest more in the well-being and livelihood of their families and communities; thus, more capital in the hands of women will accelerate inclusive growth and at least 5 of the Sustainable Development Goals 1-2-3-5-8.

Scope of Assignment
  • 1-on-1 Diagnostic Session: This session will help you understand where the entrepreneur is in their business and what specific challenges or opportunities they are facing.
  • Group Coaching Sessions: Lead five 90-minute Technical Coaching sessions over five months, with ten entrepreneurs per group.
  • Individual Coaching Sessions: Lead five 90-minute sessions per entrepreneur, over five months. This allows you to provide personalised support, focusing on the individual challenges and goals of each entrepreneur. You can help them apply the concepts they’ve learned, troubleshoot problems, and refine their strategies.
  • Progress Tracking: Submit detailed reports after each session, tracking attendance, assignment completion, and progress of entrepreneurs.
  • Learning Management System (LMS): Utilise the LMS to track progress, access resources, and submit reports, ensuring familiarity with the platform.
  • Group Learning Facilitation: Foster a collaborative learning environment, encouraging peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and support.
  • Training and Development: Attend initial training and ongoing Community of Practice meetings to enhance mentoring/coaching skills and stay updated on program best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial Growth Focus: Support entrepreneurs in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, driving their business growth.
  • Feedback and Improvement: Provide thoughtful, actionable feedback to entrepreneurs, focusing on practical application and strategic growth

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated some experience in Coaching and Mentoring
  • Knowledge of the entrepreneurship ecosystem
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience as an Entrepreneur
