Through the Made by Women (MbW) Initiative, CARE is transforming the lives of millions of women in the apparel supply chain, promoting decent work and gender equity. Spanning 11 countries, this flagship initiative addresses critical issues such as women’s voice and leadership, violence and harassment, economic resilience, climate justice, and health and well-being.
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Program Director to lead the MbW Initiative. This role provides strategic direction, oversees impactful programming, and drives resource mobilization to expand MbW’s reach and influence. Reporting to the Regional Program Operations Director (RPOD) in Asia and working closely with CARE Impact Partners (CIP) in the USA, the Program Director ensures the success and sustainability of this transformative initiative.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Leadership and Resource Mobilization
- Develop and execute a robust resource mobilization strategy, securing multi-year funding through partnerships with corporations, foundations, and institutional donors.
- Forge innovative funding models and compelling value propositions to attract new partners.
- Represent CARE and MbW in global forums, meetings, and workshops to build relationships and promote the initiative.
2. Program Innovation and Quality
- Spearhead impactful interventions across MbW’s core themes, fostering innovation and collaboration among country teams, local partners, and stakeholders.
- Share evidence-based practices and tailored solutions to improve conditions for women apparel workers.
- Coordinate learning events, workshops, and training to strengthen programming.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL)
- Establish and oversee a comprehensive MEAL framework to track progress and demonstrate impact.
- Collaborate with global and country-level MEAL teams to capture MbW’s reach and outcomes in CARE’s global systems.
- Produce research reports, evaluations, and learning briefs to inform decisions and improve programming.
4. Reporting and Communications
- Develop high-impact communication materials, including reports, multimedia content, and newsletters, to influence policy and industry practices.
- Oversee knowledge management strategies to capture and disseminate best practices.
- Manage external vendors for the production of branded materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in development studies, economics, business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in program management and coordination within the development sector.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and building partnerships with donors and corporate stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in systems thinking within complex organizational structures.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Flexibility to travel within South and East Asia as needed.
