Position Overview

The Senior Technical Advisor – Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) provides expertise and technical leadership for ACHIEVE programming in MNCH to ensure technical and programmatic quality. S/he provides leadership in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of ACHIEVE’s strategic and technical approaches in MNCH programming, applying state-of-the-art science and ensuring alignment with global guidelines, standards, and protocols; provides direct technical assistance to ACHIEVE consortium and sub-partner organizations implementing MNCH activities; contributes to ongoing knowledge exchange and skill transfer across the global project; and supports growth and expansion of MNCH programming under ACHIEVE as possible.

Basic Requirements

Master’s degree and 9+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced clinical degree or MD/PhD (preferred), or master’s degree in health-related field and equivalent experience.

At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including international public health programming, with at least 5 years relevant overseas work experience.

Significant and successful experience working in international development and/or public health programs, with focus on Maternal Newborn and Child Health.

Experience providing direct technical assistance in developing countries.

Proven programmatic, technical, and managerial ability and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with professional colleagues in a broad range of local and international nongovernmental, governmental, and international organizations within multiple socio-cultural contexts.

Responsibilities and duties

Content development

Research, draft, and produce high-quality external content for TfG and its initiatives – including blogs, longform articles, case studies, web copy, social media, and fundraising materials – by crafting clear, compelling narratives.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Raagsan is a female-led social enterprise that specializes in Social Accountability, Governance and Citizen Engagement with focus in the Horn of Africa. Since 2023, Raagsan has been providing community engagement services through its Daadihiye Citizen Engagement platform to provide timely early warning messages and climate risk guidance to flood- and drought-prone communities along the Shabelle River. This involved disseminating messages on weather forecasts and early warning translating hydrological data via radio programs, SMS alerts, and community workshops to increase community awareness. The organization has also worked closely with the national government, local authorities and community leaders to ensure communities have access to timely and reliable early warning information products.

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this assignment is to strengthen understanding and use of early warning systems among practitioners and community engagement facilitators. The consultant will develop clear and interactive learning materials, produce a community sensitisation guide, facilitate capacitybuilding workshops, and support the project team to document lessons learned from the roll-out of the Daadihiye Early Warning Dissemination Platform.

SCOPE OF WORK
The consultant will be responsible for the following:
• Develop an interactive Early Warning Guide and Community Sensitisation Toolkit, suitable for practitioners and community engagement facilitators.
• Produce a community sensitisation toolkit to support consistent messaging and engagement at community level.
• Support the development of animated video content to translate the package into an interactive video content. The consultant will work closely with Video Animation and Graphic Design Consultant.
• Facilitate training for practitioners and deliver a Training of Trainers (ToT) for community engagement facilitators through virtual and in-person 5 days session.
• Prepare a brief training report summarising the training outcome.
• Support the project team to document lessons learned from the roll-out of the Daadihiye Early Warning Dissemination Platform and produce a learning brief.

QUALIFICATIONS
Raagsan is seeking a consultant with the following qualifications and experience:
• A university degree in disaster risk management, climate change, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience working on early warning systems, disaster preparedness, and climate risk–related programmes.
• Proven experience in developing training and learning materials.
• Experience facilitating capacity-building workshops and TOTs.
• Strong writing and analytical skills, with experience producing learning or reflection documents.
• Experience working in fragile and humanitarian contexts is an advantage.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Gender and SRHR Advisor provides strategic and technical leadership on gender equality, social inclusion, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the country context. He/she will be responsible for the overall leadership, organisation, planning, direction, and technical guidance of Gender and SRHR programmes. Gender-based violence (GBV)

Background and Need for the Post

There remains a profound gap in the sector’s understanding of the needs and lived realities of women of faith who are navigating violence, harm, and the pursuit of justice. Their experiences are often shaped by intersecting systems of oppression including racism, misogyny, faith illiteracy, and institutional bias which create barriers to life-saving support and can lead to further marginalisation and re-victimisation. The Faith & VAWG Coalition exists to challenge these inequities by centring survivor expertise, generating nuanced and contextually grounded evidence, and influencing policy and practice across VAWG services, statutory agencies, and faith communities. Guided by feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial principles, we work in ways that honour multiple worldviews while remaining critically engaged with the structures that shape power, harm, and belonging. We have secured three years of funding to carry out research, to transform how the sector listens to and responds to survivors from faith backgrounds. We are recruiting for a Research & Policy Lead who will carry out ethical and trauma-informed research; translate findings into meaningful policy interventions; and help shift the conditions in which survivors seek safety and justice. The role calls for humility, reflexivity, and a commitment to challenging bias whilst contributing to systemic change.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the full design and delivery of research projects, including survey development, survivor recruitment, interviews, focus groups, data analysis, and ethical oversight.
2. Develop policy recommendations and influence strategies based on the research, producing policy briefings, targeted recommendations, and evidence-based guidance for statutory and faith-based stakeholders.
3. Coordinate and manage the Advisory Board, integrating expert input into both research design and policy outputs.
4. Engage and support survivors throughout the research phases, including organising debrief workshops and ensuring trauma-informed, inclusive, and culturally respectful practice.
5. Write research reports and publications and create accompanying policy materials for practitioners, MPs, policymakers, and funders.
6. Lead dissemination activities, including launch events, parliamentary roundtables, a conference, webinars, and social-media-friendly outputs.
7. Represent the Coalition externally, strengthening relationships across the VAWG sector, faith communities, academic institutions, and policy audiences.

Person Specifications

Objectives

Mercy Corps aims to establish an evidence-based, youth-informed definition of wellbeing and a wellbeing framework to guide program design, implementation and measurement.

Given the variability in wellbeing concepts and the need for strong anchoring in humanitarian settings, this process will produce a unified conceptualization, results framework, measurement guidance, and implementation recommendations grounded in literature, internal evidence, and participatory input from young people. The wellbeing framework will include, among others, outcome indicators, types of program activities supported by evidence achieving wellbeing outcomes across individual, household, and community levels of the socio-ecological model.

The objectives will be achieved through the following elements:

Synthesize internal and external evidence on wellbeing programming and measurement., including internal documents and datasets (e.g., outcome monitoring indicator data, program evaluations) as well as relevant external research and impact evaluations.

Conduct participatory consultations with young people to co-define wellbeing and framework components, following a Level 6 participation approach (adult-initiated, shared decisions with youth) on the Ladder of Participation.

Develop a Mercy Corps Wellbeing Framework for adolescent and youth programs that defines wellbeing, program activities, and measurement options.

Required Experience and Skills

The successful consultant/s should have the following characteristics:

Strong technical knowledge and practical experience of adolescent and youth development programmes in humanitarian and development contexts.

Qualifications and professional background in fields related to adolescent and youth development (e.g. education, international development, human rights, gender studies or similar).

Expertise in monitoring, evaluation and learning, including measurement, results frameworks and indicators.

Overview

The Policy Analyst, GESI will support IISD’s team of experts in delivering IISD's work program in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, supporting the country’s GESI-responsive just transition toward clean energy sources. Working closely with the Senior Policy Advisor, GESI, the candidate will work as part of the Energy Program with minimal supervision to contribute to the delivery of the EASE and EnerKey projects and other projects that may be assigned.

The Policy Analyst, GESI will support IISD’s work on GESI-responsive energy, just transition, and carbon pricing initiatives. Key responsibilities include the following:

Collaborating with IISD teams to design, develop, and implement its projects using a GESI lens.

Conducting data collection and research (quantitative and qualitative) and supporting the delivery and presentation of research outputs.

Communicating and sharing research findings through reports, briefs, presentations, and other media.

II. Job Summary

The GBV Program Officer is a senior position, responsible for leading the design, implementation, and monitoring the ARISE project, which is purely GBV focused project, that will be implemented in South Wollo Zone of Amhara Region. The aim is to execute, facilitate and exercise effective day-to-day coordination and management of the projects according to the Network’s and Donor, general standards and institutional culture. The GBV Program Officer supports the operations efforts to fulfil NEWA’s mandate and associated obligations on GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response in South Wollo Zone, based on policy and guidance. S/he collaborates closely with the NEWA head office staffs and the field Program team and strengthens working relations with donors, partners, members and stakeholders involved in GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response. The GBV program Officer contributes to ensuring ARISE project meet the mission and objectives of NEWA as a national agency for GE, WE, and the fight against GBV/VAWG. The incumbent makes sure effectiveness, efficiency and meeting quality standards by working in a team, closely monitoring project and budget and organizing logistics. The GBV Program Officer support the ARISE project in managing the day-to-day project activities, facilitating trainings, provide technical support for the economic support for survivors, monitoring the project officers and social workers and over all field level project management. Key responsibilities:

The FWACA Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

● Develop an outreach strategy to collaborate with various regional stakeholders, promoting our digital platforms through both offline and online mechanisms to achieve maximum reach and impact.
● Devise and implement innovative approaches to promote WFD’s digital services and products, such as our eLearning courses, chatbot, counseling and referral services, etc.
● Implement FWACA grant activities – Create internal workplans, ensure key deliverables and activities are on track, manage grant budgets, evaluate progress and analyze findings, communicate progress internally and externally through calls and regular written reports.
● Oversee the design and development of clear, compelling, and varied marketing and promotional products for different stakeholders and audiences.
● Periodically review and advise on platform communications campaigns and support with country/regional-specific content ideation.
● Identify content creators we can partner with to increase the reach of our online content and drive traffic to the three platforms.
● Support and facilitate the logistics activities of the grant, particularly in relation to procuring external vendor services.
● Create effective ways to track, measure, and report on activity/project metrics and successes.

Position Requirements:
● At least 2-3 years’ experience with grant/project management, proposal and report writing, and budget development and management.
● Must have oral and written fluency in French and English. Spanish/Portuguese proficiency is a plus.
● Experience with partner/stakeholder management and engagement, including partner identification, outreach, and cultivation, preferably in the sexual and reproductive health space.
● Knowledge of FWACA-based stakeholder groups and networks operating in the sexual and reproductive health space.
● Adept at developing communication and marketing content and products for different target audiences.
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including presentation ability.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and to respond/adapt to quickly changing circumstances.
● Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with little oversight.
● Immediate availability to work 40 hours per week (full-time).
● Must have a laptop and a personal phone with a strong and stable internet connection.
